Rom's Hi I have been looking for something to play my CD's on, something that will make them sound more like vinyl ( whatever you want to call it, heart ,guts life ) the AMR is very well built ,looks good ,has some nice touches, sounds 'natural' but ...

I bet Yamamura is using non-causal filtering... this is all running off a music server, so could process everything offline. This makes it possible to do forward-backward filtering - you run the filtered signal "backwards" through the original filter...

[quote user="coops"]Romy if you have the oppurtunity , try to hear the new dac by Mike Stahl, the Stahl-Tek 'Vekian' in my system it has greater resolution, weight and presence than the Lavry and MSB platinum which were my favourite dacs until now, r...

Wow, it is worth to live in Boston and have a day of miserable rain.
I really like what I was getting with CD and I have a few very interesting results coming that should be even more exiting, at least one of them is more defiantly is very exciting ...

Thanks, Bernie, I am not familiar with anything Apple, so pardon my ignorance. So, the remote is some kind of available off the shelf devise the runs Weiss commuter remotely. It is nice that Denial Weiss made it as transport as well as a full pla...

For what it is worth, I have found the Lavry DA-11 to be very susceptible to the noise level of the USB input and so may not be the best DAC to try with a computer, where the noise is a function of too many variables. Of course, if other material is ...

So at what point are the sellers going to be obliged to tell us if it's as per original or upsampled? Or just a lie printed to squeeze out more cash?...I am building a linux server right now and will be attaching it to a DAC in a week or so that wil...

The new Oppo uses the ESS Sabre32 DAC chip, which seems to maintain fidelity in the face of much higher jitter compared with others...or at least so the comparison above shows....so it might be able to achieve decent performance with a relatively poo...

Sounds like your non-cable digital experience is similar to mine. My own transport is "1st generation", non-oversampling for a targeted reason, as is my DAC.Back to cable:I'd bet that many people would regard the Synapse cable as a "simple solut...

I did not have time to read the articles carefully, but:"The IDAT’s D/A conversion stage is also unique.""In the IDAT, two DACs per channel are used for each half of the balanced data signal instead of one."...the very idea of balancing DAC's is not ...

Short answer yes, the auto sample rate sensing, dithered volume and eq are useful features , the Metric halo/ Sonic Studio Model 4 is also a cracking adc/dac.But yes primarily the sound, did you get a chance to listen to Amarra at Flemings? Keith....

[quote user="manisandher"] Oh yes, I've tried this for sure. There is a difference between the three modes; DIG_IN, REFWCLK and MASTER. The first two seem to add something in the HF that I can imagine many people judging as being 'extra resolutio...

Ok, thanks for explaining. I
few things I would like to note.
If your preamp, being
incorporated between you front-end and you power amps degrades sound in any way
or does not make sound better then it is not a good preamp. Period, there is n...

I do not know what Game Changer is in context of the guy who
wrote it. He is compiling for audio shopper the "short list of products to
consider for the next audio component you buy", in the best traditions of industry-estimable
but boring and pre...

Romy,You say that the digital read from your transport is better than the multiple reads of CD-Rom with EAC software?Thats interesting!!! It means that it is better to read once in a 'good' way than ten times to read garbage and average it.So, all th...

I do suggest to re-read my post above where I stated that Pacific has remarkably similar sound to Bidat. In Bidat there is one quality that sets it apart from any other converters out there – the Bidat’s dynamic bursts are orders of magnitude less an...
